SHELLEY JOHNSTON

Director and Principal Lawyer

Shelley has over 18 years’ experience as a lawyer, practising in general commercial, corporate and technology law, gained in-house and in private practice in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Before founding Clearly Legal, Shelley was a senior lawyer with a global cyber-security vendor, where she drafted and negotiated complex transactional agreements and managed the legal function for the entire business throughout Australia and New Zealand.  Shelley has also worked as a senior lawyer for one of the world’s largest information technology companies.

Shelley founded Clearly Legal in 2018 with a focus on providing legal services for start-up and SME businesses. 

​

Shelley prides herself on her strong commercial acumen, developed over many years working closely with her business clients. She is focused on achieving outcomes and will think outside the box to resolve her clients’ issues.

In her spare time Shelley enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, reading, cooking and long-distance running.
